Program Notes
In the ballet world, the right costume doesn’t just complete a variation — it defines it.
Yet for studios and schools, the current rental landscape can feel like choreography in the dark: countless emails, unclear pricing, hidden cleaning fees, and the question that always lingers — is the headpiece even included?
At Florimund’s, we believe rentals shouldn’t be more technical than your variation.
Florimund’s was founded by Janessa Cornell Urwin, a designer and costumer whose work has appeared on stages across the country. She has created for choreographers including Kirk Peterson, Ethan Stiefel, Stephanie Martinez, and Caili Quan, blending classical tradition with modern movement. Janessa’s background as both designer and ballet dancer informs everything we do — every seam, plate, and embellishment is built for the highest aesthetic impact and the most moveable construction.
Every piece in the Florimund’s collection is either designed and built by Janessa herself or curated from other exceptional ballet craftspeople whose work meets our exacting standards. Each costume is then refined, finished, and photographed in-house to ensure it embodies the Florimund’s ideal: couture-level appearance with company-level function.
We’ve reimagined the rental experience for today’s studios, students, and professionals — transparent pricing, real-time availability, clear policies, and a collection that respects both artistry and logistics. Renting from Florimund’s is as seamless as the costumes themselves.
This is where craftsmanship meets ease.
